What is self storage and how does it work?

Renting a storage unit is a great solution to clear up some much-needed space at home or to hold much needed business items. All of our storage facilities offer clean, secure storage solutions at affordable prices.

How much does self storage cost?

Are there any items that I am NOT able to store?

Liquids, explosives, flammable liquids, toxic materials, and perishables. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding a specific item.

What is the best way to pack a unit?

Larger and more infrequently used items should go in the back of the unit. Remember to keep a walkway in the center of your unit to more easily access items. Always keep items labeled and a list of items stored, even a photo on the outside of each box will allow you to "see" what's inside.

What are some helpful tips for moving into my unit?

How much notice needs to be given before I move out?

All contracts are month-to-month. However, we do require advance notice when moving out. Inquire with our staff to ensure you are following the correct move out instructions.

What type of documentation do I need to provide in order to rent a space?

We require a government-issued photo ID (example: driver’s license, state ID, or passport).

Do I need to sign a long-term lease?

No, we rent on a month-to-month basis unless the customer requests otherwise. We do offer prepayment discounts that are often the best value for your dollar if you plan on storing long term.

Do you sell boxes and storage supplies?

Yes. We sell a vast variety of moving supplies in our front office at competitive prices.

Does there have to be someone in the office to let me through the security gates?

No. At the time of signing your lease, you will be given your own unique security pass code that will allow you access to your unit during normal access hours.

Am I required to purchase insurance for my storage unit?

While insurance is a requirement for your lease, if your homeowners, renters, or business liability insurance will cover your items, you are welcome to submit your declaration page to your file. If you do not currently have insurance, we offer competitive rates with no deductible through Storsmart Insurance.
